You Are Going The Wrong Way!

“Alice: Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?

The Cheshire Cat: That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.”

Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Do you know where you are going?  Do you know what comes next? Will you know it when you get there?  Are you focused on the destination or the journey?

No matter how you answered those questions, I’m willing to bet that you made a particular assumption; that you are trying to get somewhere other than where you already are.

What if you already are where you want to be?

Sure, you may not have the car, job, or relationship that you are looking for yet, but there are qualities of each of those things that you do already have in your life.

Maybe you already have reliable transportation, something that is the same pretty red color, or makes you feel free when you use it.

Maybe there are people in your life who already respect you, contributions that you enjoy making, and satisfaction in other jobs well done.

Maybe there already are those who you love and love you, friends to share with, and those in your life who unconditionally accept you for who you are.

Everything that you want is because you think you will feel better when you have it.

So, it isn’t even the “thing” that you really want.  It’s how you think it will make you feel.

If you look, you will see that you already have other “things” in your life that make you feel the same way.

You can still have what you want in any shape, size, color, or package you desire, but just maybe you already have what you really want.

And as you appreciate the qualities you want in the things you already have, you more easily allow everything else into your life that matches them.
